Professional Job Opportunity: Tech Startup Business Development Manager and Product Owner.

Key Details:
1. Position: Tech Startup Business Development Manager and Functional Owner: Apps, Enterprise Software Consulting and SaaS
2. Location: Remote / London, United Kingdom
3. Sales Focus: B2B, B2C Sales of Technology Consulting, SaaS, and Apps
4. Product Ownership: iOS apps, Browser SPA apps, Java and open source Consulting
5. Compensation: £40,000 Basic Salary + 20% Commission + Equity
6. Earning Potential: Year 1 OTE : £50,000; Year 2 OTE : £150,000.
7. Required Mentality: An early adopter personality with a resilient and relentless entrepreneurial spirit is essential.

Responsibilities:
As Tech Startup Business Development and Product Owner, your primary mission is to secure new clients. You will be personally responsible for all aspects of business development and sales, from lead generation and nurturing to closing deals, and for market research, product documentation, including detailed functional specification and use cases or user stories. This role is ideal for a sales-driven entrepreneur seeking a challenging yet highly rewarding opportunity. There are two parallel streams of the business that you will apply your sales and business development skills to:

1. Enterprise Technology Consulting. You will strategically develop the enterprise software consulting business by identifying opportunities in my areas of expertise, focusing on Java-centric along side industry standard and open source solutions for massively scalable computing environments.

2. Saas Sales and Consulting. Simultaneously, you will initiate customer acquisition strategies, emphasising lean and MVP practices, starting with browser and iOS versions of my Business Stack series(invoices,expenses,contacts database) and Expense Workflow offering, already available in the App Store. For both streams, you will report to me, the only Founder.

Detailed Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through networking, cold calling, and other lead generation methods.
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations to prospective clients.
- Conduct market research to identify potential clients and industry trends.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and roadmaps
- Create product documentation including user stories and specifications
- Negotiate contracts and close deals to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Provide regular updates on sales activities, market trends, and competitor analysis.

Qualifications:
While not mandatory, experience in complex sales, particularly within the domain of cloud-oriented enterprise software and software infrastructure, is highly valued.

A good Humanities degree, or a Law degree or an MBA, while not essential, could serve as suitable preparation.

Useful Experience:
- Proven track record in business development or sales role.
- Strong knowledge of software industry trends and technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills.

1 Relevant Vertical Industry experience:
Having researched our propositions: products and services, and noting that this role will provide a platform for you to influence the direction of the company, including potential pivots, in addition to general software industry experience, what relevant tech sales experience do you have ?, what vertical industry sales experience do you have in automation of day to day business tasks such as invoices, spend management, project management, or java or open source technology consulting sales?
2 Collaboration:
This role is to work along side a founder solopreneur with a Computer Science background, who is looking for an entrepreneur-minded sales professional who will also be tasked to be the principal product owner for my Business Stack series of Web based and iOS apps. You will be expected to start making cold calls and other cold approaches in search of potential opportunities. What challenges do you expect working with just one other individual in this scenario, at least initially until you have helped him built some momentum?
3 Lean startup, Early Adopter mindset:
In a lean startup environment such as this project, an early adopter mindset and MVP approach are mandatory. How do you see yourself embracing this mindset, especially when making cold approaches to potential customers about an unknown brand? In your first 30 days, with the MVP and lean environment restrictions, what will you aim to achieve and what level of budget and other resources do you expect or require; that is apart from your basic salary? Bear in mind we will be using internal database tools and will not be using external cloud platforms to store customer data.
4 Sales Experience:
Which of your sales experiences do you anticipate would be most relevant to this role, particularly given that you will be making cold approaches on behalf of an unknown brand with minimal market presence? Will you be able to leverage your existing professional network?
5 Functional Ownership:
This role includes responsibility for market research, product strategy and product documentation, including detailed functional specification and use cases or user stories. While experience in this area is not essential because it can be picked up quickly with sufficient curiosity and enthusiasm, it is nevertheless equally as important as the business development or sales component of the role. How will you approach this aspect of the role?
